In 2015, Andy Dale took us back to Aston Villa’s glorious season of 1980/81, when just 14 players took Villa to the League Title. A semi-fictional story, written through the eyes of the soon-to-be 14-year-old Jonathan Stadler, brought us laughs, tears, and memories galore.
The book sold over 25,000 copies in various forms, so successful that plans to make it into a movie have caused excitement in the Villa community. What the readers craved, though, were the next installments. What happened to Jonathan and his local team-supporting friends? So finally, we get to travel into the new 1981/82 season. Villa fans know how one of the stories ends, but many paths will lead them to that glorious night in Rotterdam.
‘Just 15 – It Could Be Rotterdam’ is set to be released on Tuesday, 17th September 2024, to coincide with Aston Villa’s return to the top table of European football.
